Paper lover: Tatebanko, the forgotten Japanese art of paper dioramas

-Tatebanko-

Tatebanko is the almost forgotten Japanese paper art of building dioramas. It was popular in Japan during the 17th century unitl the 19th century. Since then it has basically disappeared.

My sister Renee brought me this diorama, which she bought at Muji (who is now doing an entire series). I built it during the holidays and this is result. It's so pretty, I'm glad it's making a comeback.
